Karan Johar’s Marriage Proposal

Movie stars are no strangers to outrageous fan mail. Ardent admirers of a certain hero or heroine will go to extensive lengths to let the star know just how much they are loved and idolized. I’m sure this is nothing new to the likes of Shah Rukh and Abhishek…so maybe Karan Johar should seek their advice in dealing with this delicate fan matter:

Recently, the man behind the scenes of some of Bollywood’s biggest hits received quite a compliment, when a fan proposed marriage to him! The request came in the form of a gift from Uzbekistan, where a young lady named Dilbahar wrapped up her devotion and hopes in a package addressed to the 37-year old multi-hyphenate magnate. The package contained “a specially designed carpet which had [the director's] image.” With the artistic likeness, was a letter that professed fervent adoration for the filmmaker, and Dilbahar’s hopes that he would have her in matrimony!

Karan was naturally stunned to discover that he has passionate fans to this extent, and though there is no comment from the My Name is Khan director, a source from Dharma Productions remarked that, “although Karan thought that it was nice of the fan to write some kind words, he couldn’t help but feel embarrassed by the contents of the letter.”

Dilbahar, I am guessing the answer is a resounding no. Good effort, though!
