Raman Vij completed his Masters in Fashion and Textiles from Nottingham Trent University in year 2000. He studied knitwear design and technology in Nift Delhi and won the Best Knitwear Design Collection Award in year 1997. He launched his label ‘ RAMAN VIJ ‘ in year 2000.

Raman takes inspiration from life and nature around him. He is inspired by factors like structures and patterns formed by the powerful forces of nature. He is a traveler and a nomad who collects his experiences and put them on his knitting & embroidery. According to him, ‘to create is to destroy and to destroy is to create’.

His experimentation with yarns & knitting always push him towards new ideas. He believes there is a lot to do in knitting. He wants to explore more and want to go to the depths of knitting possibilities. This can give a new dimension to fashion & a bit of curiosity factor that he thinks is missing in knitwear in India.
