Kambakkht Ishq = Mr. and Mrs. Smith?

In a recent interview from RealBollywood.com, Akshay Kumar states that “Kareena and I are like the Bollywood version of Mr. and Mrs Smith…”
We hope he means sexual tension-filled action scenes, and not marriage-ruining real life affair!

I suppose we can rest easy about the latter, it is very clear that Akshay only wants Twinkle Khanna to unbutton him…but now that the release of the highly awaited action/romance is upon us, AK is now focusing his attention on the ladies, who have been enamored with this Khiladi since he appeared on the scene in those…Khiladi movies.

Always a smooth operator (as evidenced by the recent fountain of praise from his heroines), AK is now addressing the general female population and making them swoon with lines like: “if men are from Mars then women are from Heaven”.

Yes, he really said that, genuinely believes it! Though he is aware of his awesome power over the ladies (“my Punjabi eyes convince women that I’m in love with them”) he also admires them in a very real way. In the interview, Akshay confesses:

“I personally feel that women have more guts than men. This is the reason why I agreed to host ‘Fear Factor’ as well. This is where all these women compete in situations that are more about guts than being physically powerful. Otherwise there are so many programs on TV for which I get offers to host them but then I agreed only for ‘Fear Factor’.”

But back to Mr. and Mrs. Smith, AK clarifies: “Here, this couple has fights just like any other male and a female who are constantly at loggerheads with each other and keep encountering each other at numerous junctures…The way they share a love/hate relationship is very engaging and relatable.”

Contrary to the titillating posters and inevitable negative criticism, we hope it comes across as such when the movie releases this Friday, for Khiladi Kumar’s well-meaning, lady-worshiping sake!
