Filmfare’s 2009 Power List: Kareena replaces Ash!

The annual Filmfare Power List is out for 2009 and most of the Top 10 features the usual suspects- you have your Khans and your Chopras. But the most notable addition is Kareena Kapoor. Even though she is right at #10, she replaces Aishwarya as the only female on the list!
“It’s flattering. And it’s scary. Lots of responsibilities. My power comes from my honesty to myself and to my work. I’ve always done things that come naturally from my heart. It’s amazing that I’m in the power list although I’ve never applied much thought to the process of getting there!” Kareena humbly told IANS.
Somehow I doubt that, Bebo. It seems to me that most things people do in Bollywood are for the advancement of themselves in the industry, not necessarily for the quality of their films or commitment to the fans.
As for competition with Ash, Kareena knows these are big shoes to fill. “I think Aishwarya has had a great innings. I think it’s a great honor to be where she was in the power list. Power equations in the entertainment industry change minute by minute-I’m definitely going to try my best to hold that position.”
Kareena’s most recent hit was Golmaal Returns, and even though her role was not sizeable, audiences responded well, riding along with the success of the action-skin flick Tashan, which debuted her and Saif Ali Khan as a (power) couple.

So did this hefty alliance with Saif influence the Filmfare list? Kareena concedes as much, but she also credits her many endorsements, which she feels represent her true self to the fans.
“I make sure the products reflect my personality. My products are young, zestful, fun and classy. I’m endorsing 10 brands. Saif and I are endorsing just one brand together. We’re going easy on signing together…We can’t deny he’s also one of the hottest actors in the industry. I think we are a blend of looks and spirit. Saif and I are very alike. He also follows his heart and is very honest in what he does.”
So why isn’t Saif also on this list?
Anyway, we must now await comments (if any) from Ash on this latest usurping.
The 2009 Filmfare Top 10 is as follows:
1. Aamir Khan
2. Shah Rukh Khan
3. Yash Chopra, Aditya Chopra
4. Producer Ronnie Screwvala
5. Karan Johar
6. Akshay Kumar
7. Farhan Akhtar
8. AR Rahman
9. Hrithik Roshan
10. Kareena Kapoor

What an awful list. Except for #8 and #9, everybody else does crap. They’re very good, talented people. But their movies recently are not good at all. I can’t believe she beat out Aishwarya. I used to be a big fan of Kareena but not anymore. Her movies are terrible and she is way too skinny, very unattractive.
I seriously disagree with the list !
I mean wtf Aamir gets number one becuase he just featured in Ghajni which broke records because all Sri Lankan people watched the movie as well ??? Thats it !!
As in Power… Look at Shahrukh Khans power within the industry and links and how many movies he has produced and other producers as well.
Aamir jsut does not fit in !
